Montréal : Europe in America !

A mix between Paris and New York, I fell in love with this city! Having had the chance to visit it during my 5 months in Canada, I present to you the emblematic places of this city.

The old Montréal

If you come to Montreal, Old Montreal is a must! Each alley has its own charm, and the district mixes the very recent and the old. It’s just beautiful for a walk!

In addition, it is in Old Montreal that you will find the Notre-Dame Basilica. The second largest church in the city, it preserves works of art of great value. However, if you wish to enter, an entry fee of $8 is required. Also worth seeing, just next to the basilica you will find a small Christmas shop. Open all year round, I guarantee you an immediate return to childhood!

In summer, you will find many singers who come to bring atmosphere to the streets of this district to the delight of the spectators. In winter, come and enjoy the old Montreal skating rink. Right in the middle of the city, with the lights… Fairy!

Mount Royal Park
Mount Royal Park

Mount Royal Park is certainly the place not to be missed when coming to Montreal.

Indeed, the park offers the most beautiful view of the city. So, don’t forget your camera to capture this moment.

But in addition, from this view, Mount Royal is above all a park where Montrealers come to jog or just enjoy this green area. If you like animals, you’ll be happy. The famous squirrels are present in great numbers.

Anecdote: The park was developed by Frederick Law Olmsted, renowned for his design of Central Park in New York.

You can then continue on to visit the underground city if known. Be careful, it’s not really a real underground city. There are just a very large number of shops and corridors that allow you to move around the city in winter without going outdoors.
